A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. It can be compared to a window that is frosted or "fogged" with steam. Cataracts are part of the normal aging process. Two-thirds of people over the age 65 experience some loss of vision due to cataracts. Surgery is the only way to remove the cataract and should be considered when cataracts cause enough loss of vision to interfere with daily activities.
Our eye surgeons perform small-incision, no-stitch surgeries at Eye Life's surgery center with state-of-the art technology. On the day of surgery, you will have the comfort of being cared for by the same doctors you have come to know and trust during your office visits. If you think a cataract may be clouding your vision, contact Eye Life for an appointment.
